Q: What exactly is Laurelwood Ballroom?
A: Laurelwood is a multi-use facility- banquet hall and events center. The decor is 1930's era Art Deco-style. In addition
to the Grand Room, there is the Parlor, mostly used as a bridal or counseling room, kitchen with a commercial
refrigerator, warmer, microwave oven, ice maker, dishwasher and deep sinks, the Monroe Room, adorned in 1950's
decor and a small outdoor courtyard. Laurelwood is retro outfitted yet equipped with many high-tech conveniences for
social and business events.
Q: What is the Laurelwood catering policy?
A: See policies for catering.
Q: What is the seating capacity?
A: The Grand Room can comfortably seat 130 + persons depending on the table selection and the size and location of
the dance floor. For 'reception'- style events, we can serve 180+ persons.
Q: Is it possible to have a wedding and reception at Laurelwood?
A: Absolutely! With very little effort, we can reconfigure the Grand Room from traditional ceremonial seating to reception
style seating.
Q: Do you have someone to help plan my event?
A: Yes, we do. In addition to our in-house advisers, we can recommend qualified vendors to help you plan your special
event. Contact us or see our resources link for more information.
Q: When may I visit Laurelwood to have a look around?
A: Laurelwood open house and tours are Wednesday afternoons from 3:00pm to 6pm or by special arrangement.
Q: Do you honor credit card payment?
A: Yes, VISA, MasterCard, DiscoverCard & American Express.
Q: Is parking a problem?
A: It really depends on the day and the time. Being located in Oldtown Monroe, public parking is a severe yet workable
problem. In addition to our own on-site parking spaces to the side and to the rear of the building as well as public street
parking, we have working agreements with several neighboring businesses to use their parking spaces during
off-hours. There are approximately 200 parking spaces within walking distance of Laurelwood. Click here for map
guide.
Q: How about wheel chair access?
A: Guests with disabilities are recognized as defined by ADA guidelines. Restrooms are in compliance as well as
building entry. The rear entry door is accessed by a wide garden gate, paved walkway and easily navigated ramp.
