Annena Sorenson is one of the most respected and sought after wedding and event planners on the West Coast. Her company, Tie The Knot Events, is an award winning event company in the San Francisco Bay Area celebrating 14 years in business. Ms. Sorenson is a certified professional consultant, having planned and coordinated wonderful weddings and celebrations in San Francisco and at homes and distinctive settings throughout California. She is described by industry leaders as being "multi-talented, calm and collected, extremely well-organized, and never fazed even in the trickiest of situations". Her clients say "she always has the perfect solution".

For two years Sorenson was the Vice-President and Education/Conference Director for June Wedding, Inc., an international association for event professionals. She has worked with Millie Martini Bratten, Editor-in-Chief of Bride's Magazine, Cele Lalli, former Editor-in-Chief of Modern Bride Magazine, Mary Ann Cavlin, former Executive Editor of Modern Bride, and many other top authors and professionals planning the association's international conferences.

Before co-founding Tie The Knot, Sorenson was the owner of By Invitation Only, a Bay Area-based catering company, which serviced notable clients including, country singer Crystal Gale and former "Saturday Night Live" comedian Dana Carvey. Owning and operating a catering business gave Ms. Sorenson the behind-the-scenes experience most coordinators don't have, not only in the kitchen but with tenting, lighting and layouts, crucial elements in setting the stage for a wonderful event. She studied interior design and architecture at Utah State University and San Jose University.
