The Kristen Ann Carr Fund will soon hold its annual gala, “A Night to Remember, and Drew Nieporent is proud to be the honoree this year. The Fund was founded by Barbara Carr, Bruce Springsteen’s co-manager, and Dave Marsh, author and rock journalist, to provide significant funding for the fight against sarcoma. This hard-to-treat form of cancer typically affects young adults, and tragically took the life of Barbara and Dave’s daughter, 21 year-old Kristen.

This cause is important to Drew personally. He has been actively involved since The Fund’s inception in 1993 when Bruce Springsteen, another long-time supporter, held a benefit concert raising over $1.5 million for a sarcoma fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and other programs. Three years ago, The Fund made a commitment to raise $1.4 million over five years, to establish a comprehensive sarcoma laboratory at Memorial Sloan-Kettering: the first of its kind, and a crucial step in the fight against sarcoma. We are now more than half-way toward fulfilling that commitment, and we can get all the way there and save lives with your help.

Please join Drew in supporting The Fund’s efforts for 2006 by becoming an event sponsor, participating in the commemorative journal, or purchasing individual tickets. Guests at this special event, to be held at Tribeca Grill, will enjoy an outstanding assortment of food and wine pairings from the Myriad restaurants, including Nobu, Tribeca Grill, Centrico, Montrachet, Pulse and more. You will also have the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind auction packages ranging from an autographed Bruce Springsteen guitar to fantastic VIP vacations to tickets to the Grammy Awards. Sponsors are listed on the event invitation, have special placement in the commemorative journal, and are invited to a private, pre-event reception at Tribeca Grill.
