Bark Avenue
Nearly 100,000 cats and dogs are terminated every year in Los Angeles City and County shelters at a taxpayer cost of more than $20 million. Equally disturbing, a disproportionate number arrive to local shelters from low-income, underserved neighborhoods.
In response, the Bark Avenue Foundation is launching a campaign to create social awareness in underserved neighborhoods, where organized, educational outreach has never taken place. By creating neighborhood events, innovated email campaigns and promoting community-respected celebrity interaction, Bark Avenue will work to increase awareness and lower the price of spay/neuter services.
But to lower shelter overpopulation, abandonment and animal abuse, the Bark Avenue Foundation needs your help. We are raising $475,000, enabling use to hire at least two outreach professionals with close ties to targeted communities, hire a dedicated program staff, create program materials, and to launch an effective marketing campaign.
