Château La Chenevière (France)

Château La Chenevière is an historic hotel in Port-en-Bessin, between Omaha Beach, where the American forces landed on D Day 1944, and the town of Bayeux, famous for its tapestry depicting the Conquest of England by William the Conqueror in 1066. The 18th-century château stands elegantly in its own parkland of mature trees, embracing the graceful mannerisms of a bygone era and the warmth of an English country house where relaxed indulgence is assured.

Services
There are only 22 rooms at the Château La Chenevière, each with a garden view and all individually decorated in a harmony of floral designs. The hotel's luxurious facilities will appeal to the most fastidious traveller. The dining room, with its picture windows overlooking the park, has a certain grandeur but on a more intimate scale, while the cuisine is classic with all the distinctive flavours of Normandy accompanied by many fine wines.
Location: Château La Chenevière lies seven miles from Port-en-Bessin in the heart of the Normandy countryside. Close to the D-Day Beaches and just seven kilometres from the site of the Bayeux Tapestry, Château La Chenevière is also close to an 18-hole golf course. The American Cemetery and the Caen Memorial are a short drive away and the resort towns of Deauville and Trouville are also easily accessible. The picturesque fishing port of Honfleur is well worth a visit while a little further afield is Mont St Michel and the copper town of Villedieu les Poeles is 50 kilometres south of the hotel.
